Sugar Bowl
Located on Old Highway 40, Sugar Bowl is one of the oldest ski resorts in California. Sugar Bowl opened for the winter of 1939/40, introducing the first chairlift in the history of California skiing.
Since 1939, Sugar Bowl has grown into a world-class ski resort without losing its original charm. Today it features 4 peaks, 10 lifts, 84 trails and 2 terrain parks with a separate superpipe.
The place where it all started 66 years ago is the place that keeps getting better with age. From the most convenient location and deepest snowfall to the incredible diversity of the terrain serviced by 5 high-speed lifts, the differences are clear. Olympian Daron Rahlves calls Sugar Bowl his home mountain and those of us who have skied Sugar Bowl can coincide: "It's Different Up Here".
