PLA-VADA Woodlands
PLA-VADA is a unique private community. Its name comes from being situated on the county line, with some land in PLAcer and most in NeVADA County. Initially it was a community of snowmobile enthusiasts and only the main access roads were plowed. In recent years at least one lane of most roads has been plowed, allowing access for cars as well as snowmobiles. The HOA provides water, sewer, trash, road maintenance, snow removal, a fulltime caretaker and a picnic area on the river. PLA-VADA borders the Yuba River on one side and is beautifully treed. In 2005, the average home price was $484,000 with yearly HOA fees of $940. The average lot price was $152,000 ranging from 0.19 to 0.25 acre in size.
