Carnelian Bay- Lake Tahoe North Shore
In 1860 Carnelian Bay was named after the semi-precious red and yellow stones found speckling the shoreline. Today, you’ll find two state beaches belonging to dogs, kayakers, paddleboarders, boaters, and sunset seekers, along with a host of vacation rental properties. Also, home to the famous Sierra Boat Company, established in 1952 when boats were only constructed of wood, housing a collection of classic woodies. Centrally located along the north shore, turn right or left to reach either Kings Beach or Tahoe City and any of the north shores 12 ski resorts.
